Job summary

Pye-Barker Fire & Safety, LLC is seeking a service technician to independently service, maintain, and repair fire sprinkler systems across job sites in Tennessee. You will diagnose deficiencies, perform repairs, and ensure documentation is accurate and timely.

The role requires 2+ years in the fire and life safety field, a clean driving record, and NICET Level I or higher preferred. Expect a hands-on position with travel to sites and ongoing training.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 2+ years of experience in the fire and life safety industry as an apprentice or technician.
  • NICET Level I or above preferred.
  • Strong understanding of fire sprinkler systems and service procedures.
  • Must have a clean driving record and active driver’s license (if driving is required).

Responsibilities

  • Independently perform service, maintenance, and repair of fire sprinkler systems.
  • Diagnose system deficiencies and perform corrective repairs.
  • Use hand tools and testing equipment to complete assigned tasks.
  • Ensure compliance with NFPA standards and local codes.
  • Accurately and timely complete required documentation and service reports.
  • Communicate effectively with customers and internal team members.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Follow all safety procedures and company policies.
  • Support and assist entry-level technicians and apprentices as needed.
  • Travel to job sites as required.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, climbing ladders, and working in various environments.
  • Ability to lift 50+ pounds.
  • Work performed in commercial, industrial, and construction environments.
  • Exposure to varying conditions including heights, confined spaces, and active job sites.
