Job summary

Pye-Barker Fire & Safety is seeking a field service technician to independently service, maintain, and repair fire sprinkler systems for commercial, industrial, and construction sites. You will diagnose deficiencies, perform corrective repairs, and document service reports while adhering to NFPA standards and local codes.

The role requires 2+ years in fire and life safety, a clean driving record, and the ability to travel to job sites.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2+ years of experience in fire and life safety industry as an apprentice or technician.
• NICET Level I or above preferred.
• Strong understanding of fire sprinkler systems and service procedures.
• Must have a clean driving record and active driver's license (if driving is required).

Responsibilities

• Independently perform service, maintenance, and repair of fire sprinkler systems.
• Diagnose system deficiencies and perform corrective repairs.
• Use hand tools and testing equipment to complete assigned tasks.
• Ensure compliance with NFPA standards and local codes.
• Accurately and timely complete required documentation and service reports.
• Communicate effectively with customers and internal team members.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
• Follow all safety procedures and company policies.
• Support and assist entry-level technicians and apprentices as needed.
• Travel to job sites as required.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, climbing ladders, and working in various environments.
• Ability to lift 50+ pounds.
• Work performed in commercial, industrial, and construction environments.
• Exposure to varying conditions including heights, confined spaces, and active job sites.
