Job summary

Pye-Barker Fire & Safety in Chattanooga, TN seeks a Sprinkler Service Technician to perform service, maintenance, and repair of fire sprinkler systems with minimal supervision. You will diagnose issues, use hand tools and testing equipment, and ensure compliance with NFPA standards and local codes.

This position requires a strong mechanical aptitude, attention to safety, and the ability to complete documentation accurately.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in the fire and life safety industry as an apprentice or technician.
• Strong understanding of fire sprinkler systems and service procedures.
• Must have a clean driving record and active driver’s license (if driving is required).

Responsibilities

• Independently perform service, maintenance, and repair of fire sprinkler systems.
• Diagnose system deficiencies and perform corrective repairs.
• Use hand tools and testing equipment to complete assigned tasks.
• Ensure compliance with NFPA standards and local codes.
• Accurately and timely complete required documentation and service reports.
• Communicate effectively with customers and internal team members.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
• Follow all safety procedures and company policies.
• Support and assist entry-level technicians and apprentices as needed.
• Travel to job sites as required.

The Sprinkler Service Technician independently performs service, maintenance, and repair of fire sprinkler systems. This position requires demonstrated technical competency and the ability to complete standard jobs without direct supervision. The technician may be considered at a Journeyman level and is expected to ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and company procedures.
