Job summary

Summit Fire & Security is seeking a Designer to develop and submit comprehensive fire sprinkler system designs in accordance with codes and company procedures. You will work with the Design Manager and Senior Designer to produce accurate submittals and fabrication lists while coordinating with contractors and AHJs.

The role requires 1–2 years of sprinkler design experience, basic math and CAD familiarity, and a willingness to stay current with codes and safety procedures in a fast-paced

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or equivalent required.
• NICET II or NICET III and/or state required certification required.
• Equivalent experience considered if pursuing NICET education.

Responsibilities

• Design automatic sprinkler systems including fire pumps, tanks, wet, dry, pre‑action, and deluge systems.
• Perform hydraulic calculations for each design.
• Prepare submittal packages to AHJ and correspondence for design approval.
• Participate in coordination meetings with contractors.
• Prepare fabrication lists and requisition materials with Design Manager/Senior Designer.
• Conduct field surveys to ensure design suitability for the structure.
• Assist field personnel with design-related installation issues.
• Prepare and submit final job close-out documents after acceptance testing.
