Job summary

SpringHill Suites Columbia Fort Meade Area is hiring a Maintenance Engineer through Aimbridge Hospitality. You will perform preventive maintenance, repairs, and inspections across HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems to ensure guest comfort and safety.

Ideal candidates have a High School diploma, hotel maintenance experience, and a valid driver’s license. A trade license in related trades is highly desirable, with benefits including Daily Pay and a comprehensive package.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in hotel maintenance or a related field preferred.
• Trade license (plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry) is highly desirable.
• Valid driver's license required, with an acceptable MVR.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily inspections, repairs, and preventive maintenance across plumbing, HVAC, electrical, and other systems.
• Handle minor carpentry, painting, and furniture repairs to keep areas operational and attractive.
• Respond to emergencies (fire alarms, power outages) with safety first and quick problem solving.
• Follow OSHA safety guidelines and keep work areas clean and properly stored.

KEY SKILLS/RESPONSIBILITIES

• Technical & Preventive Maintenance Powerhouse: Take charge of daily inspections, repairs, and fine‑tuning across our hotel’s plumbing, HVAC, electrical, and other systems—catching small issues before they become big ones. Perform preventive maintenance in guest rooms, common spaces, and on essential equipment (from refrigerators to ice machines), keeping everything running smoothly for an exceptional guest experience. Handle minor carpentry, painting, and furniture repairs to ensure our hotel remains both beautiful and fully operational.
• Quick‑Fix Hero: Jump into action to solve equipment hiccups, leaks, and those mysterious electrical issues—no problem too puzzling! Tackle emergencies like fire alarms and power outages with cool confidence, always putting guest safety front and center.
• Safety Superpowers: Move objects over 50 lbs., scale ladders, and power through physically demanding tasks with strength and stamina. Follow OSHA safety guidelines when wielding tools, handling chemicals, and operating machinery—safety first, always! Keep work areas spotless and safe, with proper storage for tools and hazardous materials to protect everyone.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in hotel maintenance or a related field preferred.
• Trade license (plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry) is highly desirable.
• Valid driver's license required, with an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
