Job summary

Hampton, Lenzini and Renwick, Inc. (HLR) seeks a Structural Engineering Department Manager to lead our Springfield, IL office.

This senior role drives growth and technical excellence across transportation and civil projects, mentoring a multi-disciplinary team and strengthening client relationships with IDOT and local agencies. The ideal candidate brings a bachelor’s in civil engineering, IL PE and SE licenses, and 10–15 years of leadership experience in transportation/civil engineering.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (ABET-accredited).
• Current PE license in Illinois.
• Current SE license in Illinois.
• 10–15 years of progressive transportation/civil experience; leadership experience.
• Driver's license with good driving record.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a strategic plan for the Springfield office structural group.
• Assume full P&L responsibility for the department.
• Oversee budgets, resource planning, and client invoicing.
• Mentor staff and manage recruitment for the Springfield team.
• Lead IDOT-focused projects and develop regional business opportunities.
• Represent the firm in industry organizations to enhance visibility.
