Job summary

Springfield Local Schools is seeking a dedicated Middle School Assistant Wrestling Coach for the upcoming season. This part-time position reports to the Athletic Director and focuses on coaching, mentoring, and safety during practices and events.

Ideal candidates will possess coaching certification, background checks, and a strong ability to work with youth athletes, parents, and school staff to foster teamwork and skill development.

Qualifications

• Ohio teaching license preferred/not required.
• BCI/FBI background checks on file.
• Evidence of good moral character as per Ohio Admin Code 3301-20-01.
• Fundamentals of Coaching Certificate.
• Current First Aid, Health and Safety for Coaches (valid 2 yrs).
• Concussion in Sports Certificate.
• CPR Certificate/Card.
• Pupil Activity Permit current.
• Coaching and administrative capabilities.
• Coaching experience preferred.

Reports To: Athletic Director

Employment Status: Part time

Qualifications:

1. State of Ohio Teaching license/certificate (preferred-not required).
2. Current BCI/FBI on file
3. Evidence of good moral character as established in section 3301-20-01 of the Ohio Administrative Code.
4. Ability to maintain confidential information.
5. Fundamentals of Coaching Certificate
6. Current First Aid, Health and Safety for Coaches certificate on file (valid for 2 years)
7. Concussion in Sports Certificate
8. Current CPR Certificate/Card
9. Current Pupil Activity Permit
10. Demonstrated coaching and administrative capabilities.
11. Coaching experience preferred.
12. Knowledge of sports.
13. Knowledge of training and conditioning techniques.
14. Ability to diagnose player strengths/deficiencies and prescribe corrective action.
15. Organizational and problem solving skills.
16. Ability to communicate ideas and directives effectively (orally and in writing).
17. Ability to relate with and inspire young athletes.
18. Ability to work effectively with parents, educators, and other coaches.
19. Willingness to invest the necessary time during the season.
