Job description

Join to apply for the SPRING - Youth Flag Football Coach role at Town of Normal, IL.

Join our new Flag Football program staff this summer! New 2025, Flag-Football offers a safe alternative to the football leagues while teaching the same skills and promoting the fun and love of the game.

This position will be responsible for instructing a team of up to 10 children 1 night a week (Tuesday) and a 5 v 5 game (Thursday) in the evenings (5-7pm). Coaches will teach/supervise their individual teams and prepare them for game play during their four-week season.

Staff Hours: Tues/Thurs 4:45-7:15pm (May 6 - May 29)

  1. Assist in developing a lesson plan for the program.
  2. Instruct larger groups of children (Groups of 8-12).
  3. Teach youth the basics of football and safe recreational play.
  4. Enforce program rules.
  5. Care for supplies and equipment.
  6. Must have knowledge of the sport.
  7. Must be able to demonstrate proper techniques to participants.
  8. Must enjoy working with young children.
  9. Must be outgoing and able to lead.

Preferred age is 18 years and older. Exceptions can be made for applicants with prior coaching and/or playing experience.
