The Department of Chemistry is seeking a pool of candidates for temporary adjunct positions for Spring and Summer 2027. Candidates should possess a master's degree or higher in Chemistry, Physics, or a closely related field. Candidates should be able to successfully teach undergraduate level General, Analytical, and/or Organic Chemistry, and/or General Physics lecture and lab courses in an in-person mode.
The Department of Chemistry provides essential educational experiences in Chemistry and Physics that support not only the Chemistry major and the minors in Chemistry and Physics, but also a wide range of academic programs across the University. Through foundational and disciplinerelevant coursework, the Department equips students from diverse majors with the scientific knowledge, analytical skills, and problemsolving abilities they need for success in their future careers.
The instructional assignment may include, but is not limited to, teaching courses in all levels of Chemistry and Physics offered at the college in:
The department uses chemical instrumentation and computers in teaching environments. Departmental Instrumentation may include GC, FTIR, GC-MS, HPLC and AA. Laptop computers and digital data acquisition systems are also available for laboratory instructional use.
The Adjunct Faculty will follow a syllabus and will prepare assignments, tests and quizzes as needed. Will also keep records of student's grades, attendance and submit a final grade.
