Job summary

West Liberty Community School District's West Liberty High School seeks a Spring Musical Assistant to support the vocal music program. You will teach vocal techniques, harmonies, ensemble parts, and solos, ensuring clear diction and projection.

You will run rehearsals, assign parts with the music director, assist auditions, provide feedback during run-throughs, and communicate tempo changes with the Director, Choreographer, and Pit Director; you will attend performances to address any music

Qualifications

• Experience teaching or guiding vocal music
• Ability to organize rehearsals and schedules
• Good communication with directors and students

Responsibilities

• Teach vocal music: harmonies, ensemble parts, solos, with proper technique.
• Run music rehearsals according to schedule and prep before show.
• Assign vocal parts in collaboration with the music director.
• Assist in auditions: assess range and provide casting input.
• Attend rehearsals to give feedback on vocal performance and run-throughs.
• Communicate tempo changes, cuts, or repeats with Director, Choreographer and Pit Director.
• Attend performances to address musical issues and assist with music tracks when needed

Spring Musical Assistant

• Teaches all vocal music-Harmonies, Ensemble parts, Solos, using proper vocal techniques that help with diction as well as projection.
• Runs Music Rehearsals-Following the rehearsal scheduleand Ideally runs before the show is completely staged.
• Assigns vocal parts within the music-When the score is divided up into flexible solos or ensemble parts that is decided by the music director.
• Assists in Auditions-Evaluatesstudents vocal range and gives their opinion to the director on casting.
• Attends Rehearsals during run-throughs-To make corrections and take notes and to give the actors feedback on their vocal performance.
• Needs to communicate-with the Director, Choreographer, and Pit Director about tempo changes, cuts or vamps and repeats.
• Attends Performances-To be able to address any musical issues that might occur during the runs of the show and assists with music tracks when necessary.
