Job summary

Weiss Asset Management, a Boston-based hedge fund, is seeking an Investment Operations Co-op for a January–June term. You’ll work with the Operations team to reconcile trading activity, build lightweight data tools, and help-scale workflows with the Software team.

The role focuses on data integrity, systematizing processes, and hands-on learning in a flat, collaborative environment. Compensation is monthly and varies by experience, with opportunities to expand responsibilities over time.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university degree program.
• Familiarity with SQL is a plus.
• Strong data mindset and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Support reconciliation of trading activity, balances, and fees.
• Build and maintain data models and lightweight tools for Operations data.
• Identify opportunities to automate workflows and prototype solutions.
• Partner with Software to translate operational context into scalable systems.
• Assist with security master upkeep across systems.
• Assist with derivative operations data quality checks.
• Own core team administrative tasks including meeting docs.
