Job Description

The Department of Psychology & Communication seeks to establish a pool of qualified applicants for future, part-time Adjunct Faculty appointments in Psychology. Successful applicants may teach up to six (6) semester credit hours within the required discipline as dictated by student demand, hold office hours, and assist students as needed.

Education and Experience
  • Master's degree in Psychology.
Preferred Qualifications
  • An earned doctorate in Psychology.
  • Previous teaching experience at the collegiate level.
  • Prior relevant professional experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Ability to teach subject matter effectively and in alignmentwith program learning outcomes (PLOs) and student learning outcomes(SLOs)
  • Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing.
  • Ability to interact effectively and professionally with thepublic.Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize tasks.
  • Ability to work efficiently and effectively in an academicenvironment.Ability to promptly meet semester timelines (e.g., completingUniversity training courses, submission of syllabi, posting ofgrades).
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality in accordance with theFamily Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).

  • Adjunct Faculty positions are temporary appointments, assignedper semester and on an as-needed basis, in accordance with historyof teaching effectiveness and timeliness.
  • These temporary appointments are for the Spring 2027 semesterand/or any applicable Spring 2027 sub-terms and beyond.
  • Those applicants planning to primarily teach online coursesmust have reliable access to high-speed internet, camera, andmicrophone, and any other necessary equipment as repeatedtechnological difficulties could impact instructionaleffectiveness.
