Job summary

Stand Out For Good, Inc. in Costa Mesa, CA is seeking a Textile Design Intern to join our Orange County design studio. You will contribute to fresh, on-trend collections and collaborate with the design team from concept to final product.

Ideal candidates are currently pursuing or have recently completed a Fashion or Apparel Design degree, with skills in sketching and Adobe Illustrator/Photoshop. You will learn rapidly in a fast-paced environment and help create production-ready artwork and color

Qualifications

• Pursuing or recently completed degree in Fashion or Apparel Design.
• Passion for women's fashion and trends.
• Proficient in sketching by hand or digitally; familiar with Illustrator and Photoshop.
• Basic knowledge of fibers and fabrics.
• Strong communication and collaboration; detail-oriented and quick learner.

Responsibilities

• Research print and art trends to inform designs.
• Create prints, plaids, embroideries, and graphics.
• Prepare artwork for production with color calls and vendor handoff.
• Use Illustrator and Photoshop for production-ready artwork.
• Build seasonal color palettes and collaborate with the design team.
• Produce tech packs with sketches and sewing details.
• Participate in fittings to evaluate fit and adjust as needed.
• Maintain organized design records and samples.

We are seeking a creative and passionate Textile Design Intern to join our growing, dynamic team in our Orange County, CA Design Studio. This Design Internship offers a unique opportunity for aspiring fashion designers to gain hands-on experience in the industry. The Design Intern will contribute to the creation of fresh, innovative collections that align with the brand’s vision. The Intern will work closely with the Design team to assist in various aspects of the design process, from concept development to final product creation.

Key Responsibilities

• Stay up-to-date with Print and Art trends, conduct market research, and gather inspiration from various sources to inform design decisions.
• Create prints, plaids, embroideries, graphics and other artworks.
• Prepare artwork for production: scaling, color callouts and sending to vendors.
• Use Adobe Photoshop and illustrator to create and set up production ready artwork.
• Creating original textile prints, recolors, manipulating repeats and scales,
• Assist in choosing colors and building seasonal color palettes
• Collaborate with the Design team on artwork needs
• Produce tech packs including sketches, artwork, construction details, and sewing instructions.
• Participate in fittings to evaluate fit and make necessary adjustments.
• Maintain organized design records, including sketches, prints, submits and samples.
• Actively participate in design critiques and incorporate feedback to improve design concepts and prototypes.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Fashion Design or Apparel Design.
• A strong passion for women's fashion and trends.
• Proficiency in sketching by hand or digitally and knowledge of design software including Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
• Basic knowledge of fibers and fabrics.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Detail-oriented with a keen eye for aesthetics.
• Eagerness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced, creative environment.
