Job summary

BerryDunn is seeking a Spring 2027 internship at a US location to support tax return preparation (1040, 1041, 1120, 1120S, 1065) and trial balance work under supervision. Training will cover trial balance software, DSW, Axcess, and CaseWare, with guidance from senior staff.

Ideal candidates will commit to at least 24 hours per week, have completed Federal Income Tax coursework, and be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Qualifications

• Completed Federal Income Tax course.
• Available a minimum of 24 hours per week (preferably 3 full days per week).
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.
• Basic computer skills in Microsoft Office, Microsoft Word, and Excel.
• Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills.
• Team player with a positive – ‘can do’ approach.
• Strong communication skills.
• A general and growing knowledge of firm products and services in the practice area, and a general knowledge of products and services in other practice areas.
• A general understanding of market trends including opportunities, global and local business initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Preparation of trial balance from client information: posting adjusting entries, using software to calculate depreciation, and maintaining ongoing client data
• Preparation of 1040, 1041, 1120, 1120S and 1065 tax returns to be reviewed by senior staff members
• Assist with special projects
• Work as an effective team member to complete project components and assignment tasks
• Build working relationships at peer client level
• Seek to gain knowledge of client businesses
• Effectively document work
• Identify task issues as well as task progress in a timely and organized manner
• Actively pursue self-development opportunities in line with the competency model
• Build strong team relationship skills
• Act as an Ambassador to the Universities
