Job summary

• This internship provides hands-on security experience within the ADI program and exposure to cybersecurity practices in a large-scale tech environment.

Responsibilities

• Security Controls Support: Document and track cybersecurity requirements, controls, risk items, findings, and remediation actions.
• Access and Identity Review: Review user access, roles, permissions, and related evidence per processes.
• Vulnerability and Issue Tracking: Organize findings, test results, exceptions, and follow-up actions; escalate as needed.
• Security Documentation: Develop and maintain procedures, inventories, diagrams, meeting notes, and artifacts.
• Awareness and Collaboration: Support security communications and coordinate with ADI, Technology, vendor, and business teams.

Storm Duty Requirements

Tampa Electric and its sister companies serve a role in providing critical services to our community during an emergency. Team members are required to participate in the response/recovery activities related to emergencies/disasters to maintain service to our Tampa Electric customers. POSITION SUMMARY / DETAILS

This internship provides hands‑on experience supporting cybersecurity activities for the ADI program. The selected student will assist with security documentation, risk and control tracking, vulnerability and access‑review support, and coordination with technical and business partners. The role offers exposure to cybersecurity practices within a large‑scale technology implementation and operational environment.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Security Controls Support: Assist with documenting and tracking cybersecurity requirements, controls, risk items, findings, and remediation actions.
• Access and Identity Review: Support reviews of user access, roles, permissions, and related evidence in accordance with established processes.
• Vulnerability and Issue Tracking: Help organize security findings, test results, exceptions, and follow‑up actions; elevate concerns to the appropriate team member.
• Security Documentation: Develop and maintain procedures, inventories, diagrams, meeting notes, and other cybersecurity project artifacts.
• Awareness and Collaboration: Support security communications and work with ADI, Technology, vendor, and business teams to promote secure practices.

609 Lake Kathy Drive, Brandon, FL 33510 (primary reporting location; work assignments may include meetings or activities at other company locations, as business needs require).

EDUCATION / CERTIFICATION / GPA

The successful applicant should be enrolled in an accredited university or college undergraduate or graduate‑level post‑secondary educational program in a related discipline.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Work is performed primarily in a normal office environment at Lake Kathy. The intern may participate in meetings, demonstrations, testing, or project activities in operational or technical settings and must follow all applicable safety, security, and site‑access requirements.
