SharkNinja is seeking a Spring 2027 HW UX/UI Design Co-op to craft intuitive interfaces for our hardware products. You will work with the HW UX team to deliver engaging, tactile user experiences across physical UI, displays, and feedback systems.

Qualified candidates will showcase a strong portfolio, employ a user-centered approach, and collaborate across cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment. This role is onsite in Needham, MA with some remote work days.

Qualifications

• Current student in a related bachelor's or master's program or has graduated from such a program within the past year.
• Must be able to work a full-time, 40-hour-per-week schedule with 5 DAYS per week onsite in Needham, MA.
• Demonstrate a strong portfolio that includes examples of your design experience.
• Apply a user-centered mindset with a passion for creating thoughtful, intuitive experiences.
• Use design tools like Adobe Creative Suite and Figma with confidence and creativity.
• Communicate effectively—both visually and verbally—with cross-functional teams.
• Pay close attention to detail while balancing the big-picture user journey.
• Thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment and an eagerness to receive and incorporate feedback.
• Show curiosity, initiative, and a willingness to learn new tools, technologies, and processes.
• Have an interest in connected consumer products, smart home technology, or IoT ecosystems (a plus!)

Responsibilities

• Define end-to-end user experience, interaction model, and on-product interfaces for new HW products.
• Partner with industrial design on UI placement, control feel, labeling, and ergonomics.
• Work with product and engineering to deliver feasible, desirable, viable experiences.
• Build and run usability testing on physical prototypes and translate findings into design changes.
• Document UI layouts, interaction specs, state diagrams, and UI asset packages for firmware/engineering.

This is a full-time, 40-hour-per-week position with 5 days per week onsite in Needham, MA with the remaining days worked remotely. There is no relocation or housing assistance for this position.

Compensation Range

Ranges from $28/hr - $34/hr. Specific compensation is set according to a standardized scale aligned with your educational level at the time of hire.

We're seeking a talented and enthusiastic designer to work with our HW UX team and deliver compelling, easy, and delightful user experiences for our hardware products.

Here are some of the EXCITING things you’ll get to do:

• Help define the end-to-end user experience, interaction model, and on-product interfaces for a variety of new HW products, including the physical UI, displays, affordances, and feedback (haptic, audio, visual).
• Partner with industrial design on UI placement, control feel, labeling, and ergonomics — consistently advocating for the user when manufacturing and cost pressure push the other way.
• Work through hardware and technology constraints with colleagues in product and engineering to deliver experiences that are feasible, desirable, and viable.
• Build and run usability testing on physical prototypes and turn findings into impactful and achievable design changes.
• Document UI layouts, interaction specs, state diagrams, and UI asset packages that firmware and engineering teams can build from without ambiguity.

Salary and Other Compensation

The hourly salary range for this position is displayed below. Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
