The HVAC Engineering Co-Op performs a variety of assignments involving the application of foundational mechanical (HVAC) engineering principles for HEAPY projects. This position supports the design and analysis of HVAC systems within the built environment while developing both technical and professional skills. The Co-Op contributes to project teams through design support, documentation, and collaboration under the guidance of experienced colleagues.
Candidates should be currently pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Architectural Engineering, or a related AEC field from an ABET-accredited (or equivalent accredited) program. The position requires the ability to work full-time (40 hours per week) for the duration of a semester and legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship. Successful candidates demonstrate strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills, along with excellent attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality work. Effective verbal and written communication skills are essential, as is the ability to collaborate in a team environment. Familiarity with the Microsoft Office Suite is expected, and exposure to AutoCAD, Revit, or similar design software is preferred but not required.
