Job summary

Exp Global Inc. in Raleigh, NC seeks a part-time Mechanical Engineering student to join the Mechanical team for real project exposure. You will generate drawings from markups using REVIT and assist with CAD tasks and HVAC calculations.

Ideal candidates communicate well, are self-motivated, and organized, with interest in HVAC consulting and basic computer skills. This role is hands-on and community-focused.

Qualifications

• Progress towards an accredited Mechanical Engineering degree (Sophomore status).
• Ability to communicate ideas clearly and work with others in a team.
• Interest in the HVAC consulting industry and basic office software skills.
• Familiarity with CAD/3-D tools and construction document workflows.

Responsibilities

Job description

In this role, you will be part of the Mechanical team, based in our Raleigh, NC office.

What a day at EXP has in store for you

• Work with engineers to achieve project results timely and accurately.
• Generate drawings from engineer’s markups using REVIT.
• Utilize HVAC load calculation software to achieve meaningful results.
• Efficiently research codes, references, standards to assist engineers.
• Generate handwritten calculations and other hand done engineering task assignments.
• Get hands on experience with problem solving in the construction industry.
• Work on exciting projects that are local to the Raleigh area that serve the community.
• Perform site investigations with professional engineers to understand real world applications
• Observe the construction of projects that you had a part of designing.

What your experience looks like

• At least Sophomore status in an accredited Bachelor’s Degree Program in Mechanical Engineering
• Can communicate ideas and concepts well.
• Has interest in the HVAC consulting industry.
• Comfortable and fluent in basic computer skills including Word and Excel.
• Is a self-starter and results oriented.
• Organized on a daily basis.
• Personable in working with colleagues.
• A level of understanding and experience in CAD/3-D skills.
