Job summary

Haren Construction Company is seeking a qualified student for a seasonal Field Operations Intern role for January–May 2027. Locations will vary; relocation options discussed during interview.

You will work on-site with the Project Superintendent to learn water treatment project management and safety compliance. The internship requires enrollment in Building Science, Construction Management, Civil or Mechanical Engineering, strong MS Office skills, and a 2.5+ GPA.

Qualifications

  • Actively enrolled in Building Science, Construction Management, Civil or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Must maintain a 2.5+ GPA.
  • Full-Time Position internship term Jan–May 2027.

Responsibilities

  • Learn project management and processes of water treatment projects on-site.
  • Support Safety, Health, and Environmental compliance initiatives.
  • Review shop drawings and field survey submittals.
  • Provide progress reports to ensure plans and specs are met.
  • Assist field supervisors with project performance, safety, and equipment maintenance.
  • Assist with field measurements and layout.

Job description

This application is for the Spring 2027 term only: January – May 2027.

Haren Construction Company is seeking a qualified student to participate in our seasonal field operations internship. Locations will vary based on current project details and the timeframe; available relocation options will be discussed during the interview.

Field Operations Intern Description:
  • Work alongside the Project Superintendent on-site to learn the management and processes of water treatment projects
  • Support Safety, Health, and Environmental compliance initiatives
  • Assist in the review of shop drawings and submittals of field survey reports
  • Provide progress reports and updates to ensure plans and specifications are met
  • Work with field supervisors in the evaluation of project performance, safety regulations, and equipment maintenance
  • Assist with field measurements and layout
Requirements:
  • Must be actively enrolled in Building Science, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or other related fields with the desire to pursue a career path in construction
  • Demonstrate the ability to use the Microsoft Office suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or a Permanent Resident
  • Must maintain a 2.5 or higher cumulative GPA
