Job summary

Aalo Atomics is based in Austin, TX, and seeks a Spring 2027 Field Engineering Intern to support manufacturing, installation, maintenance, and operation of projects like Aalo-0 and Aalo-X. The 12–16 week term offers daily mentorship on the shop floor and field operations.

You will travel on-site to support operations, collaborate with design engineers, and gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment in Austin.

Qualifications

• Growth mindset and positive attitude.
• Completed bachelor's degree in mechanical, Aerospace, or Manufacturing Engineering (or closely related field).
• Air travel compliant form of ID and valid Driver's License.
• Physically fit for duty – capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and standing for extended periods of time while wearing PPE.
• Able to work full‑time, on‑site in AustinTX, for at least 12 consecutive weeks.
• Able to Travel (at Aalo’s expense) to out of state locations in the continental U.S. for up to two weeks at a time.
• Must provide own housing and daily transportation to the Austin facility; on‑site parking is available.
• Some tasks involve standing, climbing ladders, and lifting up to 25lbs while wearing PPE.
• Basic familiarity with powered and manual tools.

About the role

Join our Field Operations team in Austin as we support the manufacturing, installation, maintenance, and operation of all Aalo projects. Over a 12 ‑ to 16 ‑ week term you will work with multiple other teams to support the upcoming Aalo-0 and Aalo-X projects while gaining daily mentorship on the shop ‑ floor as well as field operations experience.

• Hands‑on engineering experience (course projects, research, internships, student shop, or personal builds).
• Hands on experience with power tools and heavy equipment operation.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate with technicians in a fast‑paced shop environment.
