onsemi in San Jose, CA invites you to join the Spring 2027 Applications Engineer Intern (DC-DC) role. As part of the PMD PMIC & POL unit you will gain hands-on experience with DC-DC converters, PMICs, and lab equipment while supporting new product development and technical customer support.

You will validate datasheet parameters, correlate bench results with simulations, and work with Product Definition, Design, Test, and Product Engineers to solve real-world power electronics challenges.

Qualificações

• Enrolled in Electrical Engineering degree program.
• Completion of power electronics focused classes.
• Experience using standard lab equipment for electronic systems.
• Knowledge of SIMPLIS simulation tools.

Responsabilidades

• Validate DC-DC (Buck, Boost, Buck-Boost) and PMIC datasheet parameters using lab bench test equipment.
• Correlate bench validation results to simulation.
• Collaborate with Product Definition, Design, Test, and Product Engineers to solve complex issues.

Job Description

onsemi’s Power Management Division (PMD) is seeking an Applications Engineering Intern for the PMIC & POL business unit in San Jose, CA. Our technologies power AI data centers, physical AI systems, telecom infrastructure, industrial automation, and next-generation mobile devices for leading OEMs around the world.

During your internship you will be involved in all aspects of new product development and technical customer support. Our Applications Engineers are experts in DC-DC converter applications, and you’ll work alongside us and gain valuable industry experience.

Responsibilities

• Validate DC-DC (Buck, Boost, Buck-Boost) and PMIC datasheet parameters using lab bench test equipment such as power supply, electronic load, oscilloscope, function generator, spectrum and Vector network analyzers
• Correlate bench validation results to simulation
• Work with Product Definition, Design, Test, and Product Engineers to solve complex issues

Qualifications

• Enrolled in an Electrical Engineering degree program
• Completion of power electronics focused classes
• Experience working on electronic systems using standard lab equipment
• Knowledge of simulation tools, especially SIMPLIS
