Job summary

The Growing Company seeks a pesticide operator to manage prevention and treatment of pests and diseases on commercial landscapes. You will perform fertilization, herbicide and pest control on turf, calculate product quantities, and safely handle chemicals.

Qualified candidates have at least 2 years of commercial pesticide operator experience, a state pesticide license (preferred), and a valid driver license. English fluency is required; bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.

Nature of Work:

Responsible for the successful prevention and/or treatment of pest and disease presence on commercial landscape.

Essential Functions of the Job:

• Perform fertilization, herbicide and pest management treatments on turf using approved spray equipment

• Properly mix and apply plant protection and/or fertilizer products using various types of application equipment
• Safe Handling and use of all chemicals
• Properly complete required paperwork

Requirements Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• At least 2 years of commercial pesticide operator experience
• As required by state and federal law
• Valid driver license issued by the state where employed
• Pesticide License issued by the state where employed, preferred
• Strong sense of customer service and urgency
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks

Physical Demands and Work Conditions:

• Constantly required to talk, hear, see, sit, stand and walk
• Must be able to see at close vision, distant vision, peripherally, have depth perception and have the ability to adjust focus
• Frequent use of hands to manipulate, handle or feel objects, tools or controls
• Frequently required to reach, bend, twist, stoop, crouch, climb and balance
• Occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and seldom lift and/or move up to 75 pounds
• Occasionally works with mechanical objects and outside in all weather conditions
• Frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals
• Occasionally exposed to loud noise levels
