Job summary

Silgan Containers in Burlington, IA, is hiring a Spray Machine Operator. This full-time role operates 6PM–6AM in a safety‑conscious facility that values training and internal growth opportunities. Starting pay is $23.79 per hour, with a $1 shift differential and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Manufacturing experience preferred.
• Lean Manufacturing knowledge is a plus.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Monitor spray system performance and adjust for proper film weight, distribution and appearance.
• Perform minor maintenance on spray pumps, guns and related equipment.
• Inform supervisor of recurring malfunctions or poor quality materials.
• Conduct quality checks and adjust machines as needed.
• Document out-of-gate conditions and track material usage.

Handle hazardous materials and wastes properly.* Inform Supervisor and/or Quality Assurance Supervisor of recurring equipment malfunctions and poor quality materials or supplies.* Perform quality checks as required and make adjustments to machines as needed.* Competent in basic SPC, Gainseeker, Protraq and interpretation of SPC charts.* Document any out of gate / spec conditions on the SGC-500, and react accordingly.
