Job summary

The Sherwin-Williams Company is seeking a spray equipment technician to support store and customer site needs at Store #8025 in Menands, NY. You will repair spray equipment, educate staff and customers, and maintain spray parts inventory.

Responsibilities include hydraulic and warranty repairs, pump rebuilding, and ensuring equipment readiness for sales and service. Candidates should be comfortable lifting up to 70 lbs and available for varied hours.

Qualifications

• Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs frequently and 70 lbs occasionally.
• Must be willing to work evenings and weekends as scheduled.
• Internal Sherwin-Williams employees: must have a meeting rating and HR eLearning completion.

Responsibilities

• Support the sales efforts at a Sherwin-Williams paint store, servicing wholesale and retail customers.
• Repair spray equipment at the store or customers' job sites, including airless, conventional, electrostatic, and pressure washers.
• Conduct hydraulic and warranty repairs; rebuild pumps; repair tinting and mixing equipment.
• Educate other employees and customers on spray equipment.
• Maintain an inventory of spray parts.

Job description

This position is responsible for spray equipment (e.g. airless, conventional, electrostatic, pressure washers) at the store or at customers' job sites. This includes performing necessary repairs, providing training on equipment, and maintaining inventory as required.

Job duties involve contact with customers, which may include minors; and access to cash and other payment methods, electronic equipment, personal information, store merchandise and other items of value, and such access may be supervised or unsupervised. Minimum Requirements:

• Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age
• Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment without needing sponsorship for employment work visa status now or in the future
• Must be able, with or without reasonable accommodation, to retrieve material from shelves and floor stacks and lift and carry up to 50 lbs. frequently and up to 70 lbs. on occasion
• Must be willing to work all scheduled hours, which may include evenings and weekends, with or without reasonable accommodation
• If internal to Sherwin-Williams, you must have received at least a "meets expectations" (3) rating on your most recent performance appraisal
• If internal to Sherwin-Williams, you must have completed all HR Cloud eLearning courses required for your current position

Preferred Qualifications:

• Have a valid, unrestricted Driver's License
• Have at least a High School diploma or GED
• Have prior work experience repairing spray and/or hydraulic pumps and equipment
• Have at least one (1) year of experience working in a delivery, retail, or customer service position
• Have previous work experience selling paint and paint-related products
• Have previous work experience operating tinting and mixing equipmentAbility to read, write, comprehend, and communicate in more than one language
• Ability to read, write, comprehend, and communicate in Spanish
