Job description

Job Title: Spray Technician

The Spray Technician at the University of Louisville Golf Club (ULGC) in Simpsonville, KY, is responsible for chemical applications on golf course properties, including fertilizing tees, greens, and fairways, and applying chemicals on the greens. The role requires reading, understanding, and staying current with chemical labels and Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS), as well as compiling preliminary reports of pesticide usage for the Superintendent.

The position involves working a non-standard schedule, including nights, weekends, holidays, and during winter break, and working in various weather conditions.

Job Responsibilities
  1. Perform chemical applications on greens and fairways/golf course properties.
  2. Fertilize trees, greens, and fairways.
  3. Perform routine safety checks and inspections on all spraying equipment.
  4. Maintain chemical storage and mixing areas in compliance with county, state, and federal regulations, ensuring safety and proper handling of chemicals.
  5. Track chemical inventory and prepare preliminary reports of pesticide usage for the Manager, Golf Course Operations (Superintendent).
  6. Keep up-to-date Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS).
  7. Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor, Grounds Maintenance, and/or the Manager, Golf Course Operations.
