Job summary

Metalcraft of Mayville, Inc. is seeking a Spot Welder to join our manufacturing team. You will operate spot and seam welding equipment to fabricate and join metal parts in accordance with blueprints, specifications and production needs.

Reporting to the Welding Manager, the Spot Welder will set up equipment, fixtures, and parameters, ensuring quality and safety while meeting production requirements. A basic understanding of welding equipment and testing is required, with opportunities for growth

Qualifications

• Read blueprints, welding symbols, specs and procedures.
• Understand spot welding setup parameters.
• Basic shop math skills.
• Read operating instructions and procedures.
• Able to use precision measuring tools.
• Strong attention to detail and quality.
• Willingness to work as part of a team.
• Overhead crane experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Operate spot and seam welding equipment to join metal parts.
• Set up parts, fixtures, and holding jigs to maintain dimensional requirements.
• Determine the appropriate number of welding points and contact cycles.
• Adjust welding current, timing devices, and other machine settings.
• Set up equipment and fixtures to properly hold and position workpieces.
• Change and dress welding electrodes as needed.
• Read and interpret blueprints, welding symbols, drawings, specifications, samples, and templates.
• Use rulers, squares, fixed gauges, and other measuring tools to verify dimensions.
• Inspect completed work to ensure parts meet quality and production specifications.
• Maintain company standards for safety, quality, efficiency, and productivity.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
