Job summary

Latitude Corp. in Manning, SC is hiring a Spot Welder 1 to join our 100% employee-owned team. You will set up and operate spot welding machines to produce parts that meet safety, quality and cost standards.

Training is available and overtime may be required. No experience is required, but resistance welding experience is preferred. We offer weekly pay, a climate-controlled facility, life and disability insurance, a 401(k) with company match, and opportunities to grow within a rapidly expanding

Qualifications

• Willingness to learn to safely operate resistance welding machines on cold rolled steel.
• High attention to detail.
• Basic math skills, including reading a tape measure.
• Ability to load and unload parts repeatably in fixtures while maintaining quality.

Responsibilities

• Spot weld parts per specifications and meet daily production assignments.
• Start-up spot welding machines with minimal assistance.
• Work independently with minimal supervision.
• Arrive on time and be willing to overtime when needed.
• Ensure customer satisfaction by coordinating with supervisor and lead.
• Follow safety procedures to eliminate hazards.
• Communicate effectively with department colleagues.
• Maintain MES system records as instructed.
• Follow ISO quality procedures and control plans.
• Inspect materials before delivery to next operation.
• Keep work area neat and clean.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

Timely completion of job functions. Produce customer parts and products per the Company's established safety, quality, and cost standards. Responsible for producing quality workmanship that meets or exceeds requirements.

• Spot weld parts in conformance with specifications and meet daily required production assignments.
• Start-up spot welding machines with minimal assistance.
• Work independently with minimal assistance.
• Arrive at work punctually and be willing to work overtime when needed.
• Ensure internal and external customer satisfaction by working with the department supervisor and the lead.
• Work safely and ensure hazardous conditions are eliminated. Follow company safety procedures.
• Communicate accurately and effectively with other individuals in the department and other departments.
• Accurately maintain the MES system as instructed.
• Follow and execute ISO Quality system procedures, including instructions on job travelers and control plan per ISO procedures.
• Audit of materials and/or production parts before delivery to the next operation area.
• Maintain a neat and clean work area.
• Other ad hoc duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Ability to learn to safely operate resistance welding machines with minimal supervision on cold rolled steel.
• High attention to detail.
• Possess basic math skills, including reading and using a tape measure.
• Ability to learn the basics of resistance welding hazards.
• Must be able to load and unload parts repeatably in fixtures while maintaining all cosmetic or quality standards.

Education and Experience

• No experience required. Resistance welding experience preferred.
