Job Description

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  1. Supervises all wagering policies of the Race & Sports books.
  2. Ensures all AML & Title 31 procedures are followed and tracked accurately.
  3. Supervises the function of all personnel in Sportsbook Operations, ensuring maximum productivity.
  4. Ensures betting limits guidelines are followed.
  5. Prioritizes customer recognition and development, using available tools appropriately.
  6. Ensures departmental procedures conform to all regulatory requirements and provide maximum security for the company’s assets. Ensures facilities and equipment are available and functioning properly.
  7. Resolves disputes by following posted house rules and working with local regulatory bodies to ensure compliance.
  8. Greets customers; inputs betting information into the computer; prints tickets; accepts money; and gives tickets and change to customers.
  9. Accurately maintains the bank.
  10. Verifies winning tickets.
  11. Handles and resolves customer concerns and questions.
  12. Explains wagering information when needed.
  13. Maintains and updates betting boards or televisions for customer viewing.
  14. Meets attendance guidelines and adheres to regulatory, departmental, and company policies.
Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be a sports enthusiast with at least 6 months of previous cash handling experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with guests and employees.
  • Excellent verbal and written skills in English.
  • Ability to explain wagering to new guests.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • 2 years of supervisory experience preferred.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
PHYSICAL, MENTAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS:
  • Must be able to sit and stand for long periods.
  • Must be able to maneuver to all areas of the casino.
  • Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds.
  • Must be able to bend, reach, kneel, twist, and grip items.
  • Must be able to walk and be on feet for long periods.
  • Must possess a sense of urgency and keep pace with peak business and customer demands.
  • Must be able to work in stressful situations with constant public contact and interruptions.
  • Must possess basic math skills.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • Must respond to visual and aural cues in a loud, fast-paced environment.
  • Must tolerate secondary tobacco smoke.
  • Must be able to work any day, any shift.
