Big 5 Sporting Goods Corporation is seeking an Assistant Manager Trainee for a part-time role. This entry-level position offers a structured training program and promotion opportunities into higher management under experienced personnel, in a fast-paced retail environment.

You will work closely with store leadership to develop leadership skills, supervise staff, and support daily store operations including customer service, merchandising, inventory, and loss prevention.

Responsibilities

• Deliver excellent customer service and assist shoppers.
• Answer phone inquiries and respond to questions.
• Recommend products and drive add-on sales.
• Ensure brand standards and policy compliance.
• Set up and manage promotional signage.
• Pull stock from backroom as needed.
• Keep the sales floor clean, organized and stocked.
• Assist with opening and closing procedures.
• Train new hires.
• Supervise sales and cashier staff.
• Manage inventory and loss prevention.
• Enforce all company policies.
