Job summary

Texas Children's is seeking a Sports Physical Therapist to plan, evaluate, organize and implement PT treatment programs for patients from age 0 to adulthood in a fast-paced campus setting.

The role includes 12-hour shift blocks on campus with time for remote documentation, typically 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM. 3 full-time positions available, with structured patient care and mentorship responsibilities.

Qualifications

• PT certification from the state of Texas is required.
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association preferred.
• 2 years clinical experience OR 1-year medical residency experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Completes patient evaluations and reassessments per hospital guidelines.
• Develops an individualized plan of care based on evaluations.
• Provides clinical support to outpatient clinic or specialty program.
• Mentors less experienced staff as determined by evaluations of the learner.
• Documents patient information in EMR with minimal errors.
• Acts as clinical instructor for at least 1 professional student per year.
• Notifies manager of unsafe situations or potential issues.
• Participates in quality improvement activities.

We are searching for a Sports Physical Therapist -- someone who works well in a fast-paced setting. In this position, you will plan, evaluate, organize and implement Physical Therapy (PT) treatment programs in a developmentally and age-appropriate manner for patients ages 0 - adulthood.

They are 40 hours, but we'll be doing 12-hour shifts on campus and then time for remote documentation. General times on campus are 7:00 AM 7:00 PM

• SPT 1: Mon, Thur, Fri
• SPT 2: Mon, Wed, Fri
• SPT 3: Wed, Thur, Fri

Job Duties & Responsibilities

• Completes patient evaluations and reassessments in accordance with hospital and department guidelines
• Develops an individualized plan of care based upon evaluation/reassessment findings according to hospital and departmental guidelines
• Provides clinical support to assigned outpatient clinic or specialty program
• Provides successful mentorship opportunities to less experienced staff (in area of specialty) as determined by evaluations completed by the "learner"
• Documents patient information in Electronic Medical Record according to hospital and departmental guidelines with no more than six (6) errors per year
• Provides clinical leadership role as a clinical instructor for at least 1 professional student per year
• Informs manager or designee of all unsafe and potentially unsafe situations, patient/personal injury, anticipated problems and unusual situations
• Actively participates in the development and gathering of Quality Improvement information
