Sagebrush Church in Albuquerque, New Mexico seeks a Sports Ministry Coordinator to plan and run sports ministry programs that foster community, discipleship, and Christ-centered connections. Responsabilidades

• Coordinate all aspects of sports ministry programming, including leagues, tournaments, practices, and special events.
• Develop seasonal league schedules, game schedules, tournament brackets, and facility usage calendars.
• Recruit, train, schedule, and encourage volunteer coaches, referees, scorekeepers, hospitality teams, and event volunteers.
• Foster a welcoming and engaging environment where participants and guests feel valued and connected.
• Build relationships with athletes, families, coaches, and community members while creating opportunities for discipleship.
• Assist with planning outreach initiatives designed to attract new participants from the surrounding community.
• Partner with Communications to promote leagues, registrations, tournaments, and ministry events through digital, print, and social media channels.
• Oversee league registrations, participant communication, team assignments, and roster management.
• Coordinate equipment inventory, purchasing, storage, and maintenance for all sports programs.
• Ensure facilities, equipment, and programming comply with established safety procedures and church policies.
• Coordinate officials, game-day operations, and event logistics to provide a high-quality participant experience.
• Assist in developing annual ministry calendars, budgets, and strategic goals.
• Track participation metrics and provide reports that help evaluate ministry effectiveness and outreach impact.
• Maintain positive relationships with vendors, officials, community partners, and facility users.
• Participate in church-wide events and ministry initiatives as needed.
• Other responsibilities as assigned.

The SportsMinistry Coordinator is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executingsports ministry programs that create opportunities for people in the communityto build meaningful connections and grow in their faith. This position overseesthe day-to-day administration of sports leagues, tournaments, practices, andspecial events while cultivating a welcoming, organized, and Christ-centeredenvironment for participants of all ages.

The SportsMinistry Coordinator recruits, equips, and encourages volunteers, developsrelationships with participants and community members, and ensures that allsports programming is executed with excellence. This individual is highlyorganized, relational, proactive, and passionate about using sports as aplatform for outreach and discipleship.

Responsibilities

Qualifications

• Maintains an activeChristian faith with the ability to live in accordance with our StaffCovenant.
• High School Diplomarequired; associate or bachelor's degree in Sports Management, Recreation,Ministry, Business Administration, Event Management, or a related field isstrongly preferred.
• Two or more years ofexperience coordinating sports programs, recreation, ministry events,volunteer teams, camps, or similar activities is strongly preferred. Inlieu of experience, a combination of education and relevant experiencewill be considered.
• Passion for usingsports as a tool for spreading the gospel, community engagement, anddiscipleship.
• Strong organizationaland management skills with the ability to coordinate multiple leagues,events, and schedules simultaneously.
• Excellentinterpersonal and communication skills with the ability to buildrelationships with participants, volunteers, coaches, and church staff.
• Ability to recruit,develop, and lead volunteer teams effectively.
• Strong problem-solvingskills and the ability to make sound decisions in a fast-pacedenvironment.
• Self-motivated withexceptional attention to detail and follow-through.
• Comfortable learningand utilizing technology, including registration software, schedulingsystems, communication platforms, and Google Workspace.
• Ability to maintainconfidentiality and exercise sound judgment.
