Big 5 Sporting Goods in Tempe, AZ is seeking a Management Trainee who is energetic, sports-minded and customer-focused. This entry-level role provides leadership training and a clear path to store management through a defined program lasting 6–18 months.

You will assist with sales, supervise departments, train new associates, and help with opening/closing procedures while keeping a clean, stocked floor. Strong communication and HS diploma are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• 21+ years of age.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Basic math and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service and assist customers throughout the store.
• Drive sales and respond to customer inquiries.
• Train newly hired associates.
• Direct oversight of footwear and advertising programs, and other departments.
• Merchandising and compliance of all company policies.
• Setting promotional signage; maintain a clean, stocked sales floor.
