Sports Instructor, Summer Day Camp, JCC Boston

Share your love of sports and games by leading summer sports activities for children entering grades K - 8. Camp Kaleidoscope, the JCC summer day camp in Newton, is lively, playful, and warm, fostering lifelong friendships among campers and staff. JCC Greater Boston offers free bus service from various communities, making transportation accessible. The camp runs for 8 weeks from June 23 to August 15. While availability all summer is preferred, we are flexible with scheduling for candidates with other commitments.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Ensure the safety and well-being of campers during activities
• Create a fun and joyful environment
• Collaborate with peers and leadership to provide a memorable summer experience
• Lead or co-lead activities
• Manage supplies
• Plan engaging activities for grades K - 8
• Support supervision during events and large group activities

Job Details:

This hourly position runs from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday. Benefits include access to JCC Fitness & Wellness facilities, a vibrant work environment, and a starting pay of $20/hour, commensurate with experience.

Requirements:

• High school diploma preferred; college experience or relevant experience in sports and activities for children
• 1+ season of experience in instructing sports and ensuring safety
• Customer service experience is a plus
