Job summary

University of North Florida is seeking an Athletics Communications Assistant to act as the media relations contact for assigned sport(s). You will coordinate interviews with local, regional and national media and craft cohesive messaging across press materials, social content, and video assets.

You will assist in social media strategy, serve as lead statistician for events, train staff in live stats, and produce almanacs and game notes for various uses.

Qualifications

• The Athletics Communications Assistant will serve as the media relations contact for assigned sport(s).
• Coordinate interviews with external media including print, radio, social media, web and TV for local, regional and national requests.
• Assist in social media management and strategy for assigned sport(s).
• Use Sidearm Sports backend, Stat Crew, Genius Live Stats.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate interviews with external media for local, regional and national requests.
• Create cohesive messaging through interviews, press releases, recaps, features, social and video content.
• Assist in overall social media management and strategy for assigned sport(s).
• Serve as lead statistician for assigned sport(s) and train students and staff for live stats.
• Generate almanacs, quick facts, game notes and published material for internal and external use.
• Maintain UNF athletic records archive and provide athlete information for honors.
