The University of North Florida is seeking a professional for a key role in managing the Athletics Department. Responsibilities include serving as the primary contact for various sports, assisting in managing event coverage, and promoting North Florida Athletics through media relations.
The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor’s degree and have experience in a similar organization. The position requires in-person office hours, with work scheduled during nights and weekends.
Serve as primary/secondary contact for multiple North Florida Athletics Division I sports.
Assist in overall management, content creation, and strategic strategy of North Florida athletics website and social media platforms to maintain consistent presence.
Assist in management of part‑time and student assistant staff to ensure schedule and coverage of home and away events, including specialty events.
Update and archive historical and statistical information for the North Florida athletics website (www.UNFOspreys.com).
Assist in gameday responsibilities: in‑game statistics through StatCrew or NCAA Genius Live Stats, press box / scorer table management, working with broadcast and media personnel.
Create connections and assist requests with local, regional, national media to promote achievements of North Florida Athletics.
Report information to governing athletic organizations, including NCAA and Atlantic Sun Conference.
Meet with internal and external staff to handle communications project needs, requirements, and timelines in conjunction with the Associate A.D. of Communications and/or Assistant Director of Communications.
Assist the Associate A.D. of Communications and Assistant Director of Communications with outside requests.
Travel as needed for select sports and postseason events.
Position requires in‑person office hours, and various nights and weekends.
Other duties as assigned by the Associate A.D. of Communications and Assistant Director of Communications.
Bachelor's degree required.
Experience with Athletic Department or comparable organization.
Background check required; credit check may be required in accordance with university policy.
Must promptly report allegations of sexual misconduct, sexual violence, and child sexual abuse to Title IX Administrator or Coordinator.
Must ensure compliance with NCAA, Atlantic Sun Conference, and UNF regulations; report violations to UNF Athletic Compliance.
Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree.
Minimum Work Experience: Experience with Athletic Department or comparable organization.
