Job summary

McMurry University in Abilene, TX is seeking a Sports Information Assistant to coordinate and produce live video streaming for home games, maintain statistics, and support daily SID operations. Job description

Major/Essential Duties of the Job:

• Coordinate and produce all live video streaming for home sporting events at various venues on campus
• Experience with NCAA live stats and Presto stats.
• Assist in keeping statistics, maintaining program records, and tracking statistics for teams.
• Assist in all daily operations of the Sports Information office, working under the Director of Sports Information.
• Assume other projects and duties as assigned and agreed upon by the Sports Information Director and Athletics Director.
• Maintain and oversee athletics media and game day equipment and manage post-event reporting and documentation requirements.
• Coordinate department photography and videography, including headshots, team photos, media day, promo videos, and game day action photos
• Help with creating and managing content (photography, videography, and graphics) for the McMurry Athletics social media portfolio (Instagram, Facebook, X)
• Assist in writing post-game recaps for select sports.
• Assist with the recruitment, training, scheduling, and supervision of student workers/assistants.
• Support special athletic events, including the Wally Award ceremony, Jimmy Lee Pierce Golf Classic, and other events as directed by the Athletics Director and Sports Information Director.

Preferred Education/Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Sports Management, Communications, Journalism, or a related field.

• 1-2 years of experience in sports information, media relations, broadcasting, or a related role.
• Proficiency with video and live stream equipment and photography
