Job summary

The City of Montgomery Parks & Recreation Department seeks a skilled manager to oversee program and operations for large-scale sports and entertainment events. You will direct planning, budgeting, contracts, and risk management to maximize venue use and community impact.

Reporting to the Director, you will build partnerships with organizers, sponsors, and groups, ensure safety compliance, and strengthen Montgomery's reputation as a premier event destination.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related field with 5 years of experience in event management, facility operations, or business development (preferred).
• MBA or relevant advanced degree or professional certification is a plus.
• Qualifying education, training, and experience will be considered as meeting job requirements.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and execute large-scale sports and entertainment events.
• Oversee venue operations, budgeting, contracts, and risk management.
• Develop partnerships with event organizers, sponsors, and community groups; foster community engagement and compliance with safety regulations.
