Equiliem in Burbank, CA is seeking a sports editor/writer to produce daily original articles and to cover timely sports moments with fast turnaround. You will craft evergreen guides, manage team hubs, and edit colleagues' work while optimizing for search.

The position is onsite in Burbank with typical hours 8:00 AM–4:00 PM or 9:00 AM–5:00 PM, and compensation at $53.00–$57.00 per hour. Experience with WordPress and SEO is preferred.

Qualifications

• Significant professional experience as a sports editor or writer.
• Deep knowledge of soccer and the NFL with familiarity across UFC, college football, and broader sports.
• Excellent writing, editing, copy editing, and headline-writing skills.
• Strong editorial judgment and ability to quickly identify compelling angles.
• Ability to produce clean, accurate copy under tight deadlines, including live events.
• Experience editing other writers and providing actionable feedback.
• Working knowledge of SEO and content-performance considerations.
• Experience with WordPress or comparable CMS and collaborative editorial workflows.
• Strong research and fact-checking skills.

Responsibilities

• Write and publish approximately one original article per day.
• Produce fast-turnaround coverage tied to matchups, results, schedules, and events.
• Write evergreen and discovery content including how-to-watch guides and explainers.
• Build and maintain team and competition hubs updated across a season.
• Edit copy from other writers and keep information current.
• Apply SEO best practices and coordinate with stakeholders for approvals.
