Job summary

VERSANT Media in Stamford, CT is seeking a Sports Communications Coordinator to support media relations and publicity across USA Sports and Digital Platforms, including USA Network, Golf Channel, CNBC, and related brands. You will help elevate sports programming, talent, and brands through proactive communications support.

The role requires strong writing, organization, and collaboration skills, with a proactive approach to managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced media environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field.
• 1+ years of professional experience in communications, public relations, publicity, media, or a related field.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to create clear, engaging materials for different audiences.
• Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with social media platforms and digital tools.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate with executives and external partners.
• Resourcefulness, sound judgment, and a proactive approach to identifying challenges and developing solutions.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate day-to-day communications activities across Versant’s sports programming and digital platforms, including drafting and distributing press materials, programming announcements, media alerts, and promotional content.
• Monitor daily and weekly press coverage, social media conversations, and breaking news related to sports programming and initiatives. Maintain media reports and share updates with stakeholders.
• Coordinate press events and media engagement: assist planning and execution of interviews, photo shoots, screenings, and initiatives.
• Maintain communications tools: update media contact lists, calendars, press websites, and social media accounts for accuracy and efficiency.
• Build cross-functional relationships: work with communications, programming, producers, talent reps, and external media.
• Provide administrative support: scheduling, preparing materials, managing invoices, coordinating mailers, tracking deadlines.
