Job description

Lincoln Memorial University, and NCAA DII member of the South Atlantic Conference, is seeking candidates for a graduate assistant position in Sports Communications. The Sports Communications graduate assistant will assist the Director of Sports Communications with creative video and digital content, website and other electronic media, and media relations for LMU’s 23 intercollegiate sports.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  1. Create and post content to athletic department/select athletic programs’ social media accounts.
  2. Serve as the primary contact for several varsity athletic teams as assigned by the Director of Sports Communications, including writing press releases and game recaps, maintaining rosters and schedules on the athletics website, producing game programs, updating student-athlete and coach bios, managing media relations, and producing statistics at home events if applicable.
  3. Assist with creating other content such as photography, capturing video, writing features, developing and maintaining records and archives, and general athletic department website maintenance.
  4. Support the Director of Sports Communications in developing and implementing athletic department media campaigns.
  5. Assist with LMU Network broadcasts and FloSports stream productions.
Minimum qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop and InDesign, is preferred
  • Experience with photography and/or video editing is preferred
  • Experience with website management is preferred
  • Expertise managing various social media platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, and Snapchat, is preferred
  • Experience with NCAA statistical programs is preferred
