Job summary

YMCA of Metropolitan Detroit is hiring a Sports Aide at the Downriver Family YMCA to assist with preparation, implementation and event management of youth and adult sports programming.

This role supports coaching, refereeing, score clock operation, equipment handling, and class demonstrations while maintaining supplies and storage. Experience with children is preferred; physical ability to move equipment is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children in a supervised setting is preferred, not required
• Basic sports knowledge is preferred, not required

Responsibilities

• Assists in the planning and implementing of sports activities
• Ensures all sport programs run smoothly by assisting where needed. This includes coaching, refereeing, running the score clock, and running sport samplings or other classes.
• Maintain the quality and inventory of the supplies, equipment and materials.
• Assists in proper storage of program equipment.
• Performs other assigned duties as directed by Supervisor
