Description

Under the guidance of the Sports & Recreation Director, this position is responsible for planning, executing, and interacting with members and non-members during daily activities for various age groups at the Field House and/or outdoor fields. The role includes leading the Sports Agility Class, providing a safe environment, and ensuring superior member service. The instructor will also assist with supervision, organization, communication, and adherence to policies and procedures related to Sports & Recreation.

Core Expectations:

  1. Program Execution: Develop and implement activities and programs, supervise children and participants, focus on safety and enrichment, and uphold YMCA policies.
  2. Staff Engagement and Teamwork: Collaborate respectfully with staff, communicate issues, attend meetings, and maintain certifications.
  3. Member Engagement & Development: Offer welcoming service, interact professionally, respond to inquiries, and promote community involvement while educating on policies and programs.
  4. Facility Management: Ensure a clean, safe, and well-maintained environment, report equipment issues.
  5. Volunteer Development: Support volunteer activities.
  6. Community Involvement & Support: Participate in fundraising and build community partnerships.

Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 16 years old
  • Experience with children preferred
  • Knowledge of volleyball; certifications preferred
  • CPR/AED & First Aid certifications
  • Ability to build positive relationships, communicate effectively, and demonstrate enthusiasm and professionalism

Physical Demands: Occasionally lift/move up to 25 pounds; regularly sit, stand, walk, swim, talk, and hear; occasionally reach, stoop, kneel, or crouch.
