Job Description

Sells sporting goods, such as hunting and fishing equipment, by performing the following duties.

Essential Functions

  1. This position requires the ability to safely handle firearms and adhere to all company, state, and federal firearms regulations. Provide excellent customer service by greeting, consulting, and assisting customers with merchandise and purchasing decisions.
  2. Process firearm transactions efficiently in accordance with internal policies, procedures, and laws. Initiate all 4473 forms and conduct final checks before transfer.
  3. Handle firearms legally, including completing all necessary forms, conducting background checks, and complying with waiting periods and regulations.
  4. Assist with receipt of firearms, perform audits, mount optics, and prepare firearms for sale.
  5. Maintain product knowledge and assist customers in making informed purchasing decisions.
  6. Advise customers on equipment suitable for specific purposes and explain care and regulations related to fish and game laws.
  7. Sell fish and game licenses and manage related paperwork.
  8. Promote and explain the C-A-L Ranch Credit Card Program to customers.
  9. Maintain store appearance through restocking, merchandising, and cleaning.
  10. Take inventory, manage stock using computer systems, and process orders.
  11. Complete weekly firearm audits and assist in training new staff.
  12. Regularly lift and move up to 50 pounds, with assistance for heavier loads.
  13. Complete safety training and adhere to safety protocols.
  14. Maintain regular and predictable attendance at the store.
  15. Pass a background check and be at least 18 years old to handle firearms.
  16. Communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
