Sport Psychology Therapist Clinical Instructor/Clinical Assistant Professor of Psychiatry and the Behavioral Sciences (Clinician Educator)

The Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at the Keck School of Medicine of USC, in collaboration with USC Athletics and USC Student Health, seeks a full-time Sport Psychology Therapist to join a diverse and dynamic multidisciplinary team committed to providing student-athletes with overall support for their wellbeing. We are looking for candidates with strong clinical skills and experience who thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative, and diverse environment.

This is a full-time faculty position with an academic appointment in the Department of Psychiatry and the Behavioral Sciences at USC and a clinical service role in Sport Psychology Services. About Clinical and Sport Psychology Services

USC's Sport Psychology department has provided programming, therapy, and training for over 25 years to support the holistic wellbeing of student-athletes, aligning with our philosophy that overall health enhances performance. This position is fully integrated within the athletic department.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Conduct diagnostic evaluations and develop treatment plans
  • Provide evidence-based, multicultural, trauma-informed interventions to student-athletes
  • Evaluate crises and intervene appropriately
  • Consult with coaches and teams to improve team culture and performance
  • Participate in clinical documentation, multidisciplinary case conferences, and department meetings
  • Maintain clinical records in compliance with policies
  • Participate in clinical outcome evaluations and quality improvement activities
  • Collaborate with other health providers involved in student-athlete care
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
  • Doctorate in Counseling or Clinical Psychology (APA-accredited) or Master's in Social Work, Marriage & Family Therapy, or Counseling
  • Licensed in California
  • Experience working on a college campus or with student-athletes
  • Strong diagnostic skills and knowledge of DSM-5-TR
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work with diverse populations
