Job summary

Fort Wayne Metals is hiring for a part-time 1st shift manufacturing position in Fort Wayne, IN. The role focuses on setting up and operating re-spooling equipment, monitoring wire winding, and ensuring quality through inspection and testing.

You'll work Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, 7:50 am-3:20 pm, with overtime kept voluntary. The position offers immediate PTO and holiday pay eligibility, a competitive hourly wage ($19.84–$21.45 with a $1.50 shift premium), and a safety-focused team

Qualifications

• 1 year of previous manufacturing experience preferred.
• Mechanical aptitude required.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment.
• Lift up to 50 lbs. and occasional overhead work may be required.

Responsibilities

• Reading and interpreting production orders to determine priorities and specifications.
• Setting up and operating re-spooling equipment.
• Monitoring wire winding to ensure even, accurate spooling and making adjustments as needed.
• Performing cleaning processes using Hot Alkaline or Ultrasonic systems where applicable.
• Conducting eddy current testing to identify defects in wire materials.
