Job summary

Northwestern University is seeking an Associate Sponsored Research Officer to support the Office Sponsored Research (SR). The role involves managing and ensuring timely submission of university-wide sponsored research proposals across multiple schools, centers, and campuses, including complex multi-institutional submissions.

The position requires a BA or equivalent and at least 3 years of experience in sponsored research administration, with strong knowledge of federal regulations and sponsor

Qualifications

• BA or equivalent in education, experience &/or training.
• A minimum of 3 yrs experience in the administration of sponsored research.
• Intermediate knowledge of federal regulations related to research administration and sponsor guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Oversees and ensures accurate and timely submission of university-wide research grant proposals, including multi-school and multi-institution center grants.
• Serves as a trainer of sponsored research and represents SR in meetings with faculty and sponsors.
• Handles complex compliance issues (cost share, export controls) and ensures all requirements are met before endorsement and submission.
