Required: A Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business administration, or a related field. Excellent organizational, communication, and detail-oriented skills. Experience in government or commercial accounting or equivalent training. Proficiency in operating personal computers, calculators, and standard office equipment. Enthusiastic team player willing to work in a multidisciplinary environment.
Preferred: A Master’s degree in accounting or business administration, with experience in a university grant or accounting office. Proficiency in accounting spreadsheets, calculations, and software.
The candidate will apply sound accounting principles to perform complex tasks such as grant reconciliation, financial report examination, and preparation of standardized reports for the Borderlands Research Institute at Sul Ross State University. Responsibilities include serving as a liaison between BRI and the university’s Finance & Operations office, assisting with other grant accounting tasks, and maintaining detailed financial records.
Reports to the Associate Director of Operations, Borderlands Research Institute. Qualifications in lieu of minimums require prior HR approval. Position is security sensitive.
