City of Altamonte Springs is seeking an Operations Officer in the Police Department to handle day-to-day law enforcement duties and crime prevention at street level.

Requirements include Florida CJSTC Basic Academy enrollment/completion and a high school diploma or GED. Valid Florida driver license within 30 days; ability to pass drug testing and CVSA may be required; readiness for emergency call-outs and training under the city's Emergency Management Plan.

Qualifications

• Requires Florida CJSTC Basic Academy enrollment or completion.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• No visible tattoos on head/face/neck/scalp/hands.
• Must obtain Florida driver license within 30 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Effect an arrest, forcibly if necessary, using restraints.
• Prepare investigative and other reports, including sketches.
• Operate a law enforcement vehicle during day and night.
• Pursue fleeing suspects and perform rescue operations.
• Participate in required trainings and be available for emergencies.
