Responsibilities

• Safely operate SPMTs during loading, transport, positioning, and unloading.
• Assist with setup, configuration, connection, and breakdown of SPMT systems.
• Perform pre-use inspections and identify concerns before a move.
• Follow transport plans, JHAs, load configurations, and directions from leadership.
• Monitor load stability, equipment performance, and site changes.
• Coordinate with Superintendents, Foremen, Leadmen, Riggers, and other Operators.
• Assist with mobilization, demobilization, and equipment loadout.
• Recognize hazards and exercise stop-work when conditions aren’t right.
• Support heavy rigging and operations outside SPMT use when needed.

Job description

What You’ll Do

As an SPMT Operator at Edwards, you will help execute some of our most challenging specialized transport projects.

You will:

• Safely operate Self-Propelled Modular Transporters during loading, transport, positioning, and unloading operations.
• Assist with the setup, configuration, connection, and breakdown of SPMT systems.
• Perform pre-use inspections and identify mechanical, equipment, or operational concerns before a move begins.
• Follow engineered transport plans, JHAs, load configurations, and direction from project leadership.
• Continuously monitor load stability, equipment performance, clearances, and changing site conditions.
• Coordinate closely with Superintendents, Foremen, Leadmen, Riggers, and other Operators throughout the move.
• Assist with mobilization, demobilization, and equipment loadout.
• Recognize hazards, communicate concerns, and exercise stop-work responsibility when conditions aren't right.
• Support heavy rigging and specialized transport operations outside of SPMT operation when needed.
