Job summary

The Winn-Dixie Company is seeking a store associate to enhance customer confidence and loyalty through courteous, prompt service and by maintaining a clean, well-organized department.

Responsibilities include age verification for alcohol/tobacco, assisting customers, stocking products, operating the cash register, and ensuring compliance with safety and company policies. Must be 21+, with English/Spanish language abilities preferred.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• TIPS Training required prior to position start date.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English, and follow instructions.
• Authorization to work in the United States.
• Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test and background check.
• Compliance with all company policies and procedures.
• Basic computer skills required to participate in online training.
• Customer service skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and busy environment.

Responsibilities

• Observe customers and verify age to prevent alcohol/tobacco sales to underage or intoxicated customers.
• Deny sale of alcohol or tobacco to underage or intoxicated customers.
• Provide courteous and prompt customer service and product recommendations.
• Stock, rotate, and maintain department freshness.
• Operate cash register and handle transactions accurately.
• Keep work area clean and report hazards to management.
